Run 4 Refugees
The
Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is pleased to announce
registrations for their annual fundraiser, Run 4 Refugees, are now open.
What: Run 4 Refugees is
part of the Melbourne Marathon
When: Sunday, October 9,
2011
How: Visit www.run4refugees.org.au
to register to run – or walk!
Participants are asked to seek
sponsorship to raise funds. Once registered, you will be issued with a
personal fundraising page to share with your friends. This year the page
has even more features, such as uploading photos and linking directly to
your facebook.
Why: All money raised
goes towards helping asylum seekers, a largely neglected group in
Australia with little or no income, seeking access to essential health,
welfare or legal services.
Why your support is important
This is the Centre’s big fundraiser for the year and they desperately
need your support. The ASRC is facing the toughest of times
with demands for help at an all time high and the political climate at an
all time low.
It is so easy to be involved
You can nominate a distance that suits you – from 3km to a 5, 10, 21 or
42km run or walk. Kids are also encouraged to get involved!
You will also get a fantastic fairwear Run for Refugees T - Shirt for
running or walking if you raise over $50. Just let ASRC know your t
- shirt size when you register (remember sizes are unisex and are large).
We look forward to running for refugees with you on October 9th!
