Journey to Mecca: In the Footsteps of Ibn Battuta

‘a beautifully wrought film ... meticulously researched ... everyone, no matter their faith, should see it.’
Bruce Kirkland
Sun Media, Canada

From Tangier to Mecca: The amazing story of Ibn Battuta, perhaps the greatest traveller of his time, following his first pilgrimage between 1325 and 1326. An unforgettable picture of Islamic civilization during the 14th century, culminating with Ibn Battuta's first Hajj. The story also provides  a close-up look at the contemporary Hajj, a pilgrimage that each year draws three million Muslims from around the world to Mecca.

The award winning docu-drama Journey to Mecca has won Le Prix Du Public (Most Popular Film) at Le Géode Film Festival, Paris 2009 and a prize at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.
